    Happy New Year Uketoob,

    The Spiraltones

    The errant child of Southampton Ukulele Jam, Southampton based five-piece band, The Spiraltones were formed in 2009.

    Rob Spiraltone – Drums and occasional Guitar
    Jo Spiraltone – Vocals, Ukulele, Tambourine, Melodica
    Craig Spiraltone _ Guitar, Mandolin
    Colin Spiraltone – Electric & acoustic ukulele, Vocals
    Adam Spiraltone – Bass, Sunglasses

    Described by some as a ukulele–centric-indie-ska-newgrass-jumparound band The Spiraltones, themselves, find what they do hard to describe…

    “Every time we start playing around with a new song or idea we’re happy not to feel limited by a sound,” says bassist Adam Spiraltone… “as a band we span a wide range of ages and a diverse, eclectic set of influences that we hope comes out in the songs we write and perform………

    “We love music- we love playing live, loud and proud”

    “Happy to offer a money back enjoyment guarantee”

    Whilst The Spiraltones aren’t afraid to slip in the odd cover or two, the majority of songs come from the band themselves, predominantly from the song writing of Craig and Adam Spiraltone… the band as a whole will take those songs through a process where they are honed, crafted, screwed up, thrown away, picked out of the rubbish, cleaned off, polished and presented for the enjoyment of their growing audience.

    Jo Spiraltone says…. “We play songs about the joys and trials of life (mostly substance use, dysfunctional relationships and Brazilian Revolutionaries)

    One reviewer wrote;

    “I love The Spiraltones energy- they are alive, and make the audience feel the same. The music is an upbeat blend of rock, country, punk with a whisper of blues… Jo Davies has a voice that gives the energy meaning and personality…”

    The Spiraltones are honoured to be a part of Sofa City Band Collective

    Bloody brilliant. I thought the heron was a bit quiet though.

Got something to say?
