UkesterBrown – It’s Only a Paper Moon

Love his passion for recovering the lost verses and intros….

YouTube Channel: UkesterBrown

His Notes: This song was written by Billy Rose, E.Y. Harburg and Harold Arlen in 1933. We all seem to know the main section of this song, but I always figured there had to be more to it. Here you can see a version by Rufus WainWright: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHgElwD0VQQ

UkesterBrown – I Found a Million Dollar Baby

Love Ukester Brown’s dedication to finding the lost verses….

YouTube Channel: UkesterBrown

His Notes: Mort DIxon, Billy Rose, and Harry Warren wrote this song in 1931. Last week I was able to track down a second verse to this well known chorus. This was a special request from my friend Michèle B. from Montréal, Canada. I hope you like my approximation….. Ukester Brown – Moonlight Bay

Very interesting story about this video from Ukester Brown:  “Percy Wenrich and Edward Madden wrote this song in 1912. The chorus is certainly embedded in the American brain as a standard and I have included the forgotten verses. This song was requested by Kathy J. through my website suggestion form and she told me where the lyrics to the verses were available. Thanks Kathy!! I found an old recording on line and worked out an arrangement. It is at the top of my vocal range, but it should work well for many of you. When you hear the verses you realize the song is romance and a tale of yet another broken heart. There is a free practice sheet at www.ukesterbrown.com for your musical education and enjoyment.”
