Their Notes: Denton Latham (13) and his friend Miranda do an impromptu rendition of You and I by Ingrid Michaelson. Denton’s playing a Mainland Mahogany Tenor ukulele and Miranda has an Washburn Mahogany Concert. A little fast, but pretty fun.
His Notes: Cover of a song originally done by Danielle Ate the Sandwich – a brilliant singer/songwriter and ukulele player. Please visit her webspace at www.danielleatethesandwich.net.
I played this song on my new (used) Koaloha concert ukulele, accompanied with electric upright bass. Recorded with ZoomH2 and Kodak ZI-8 HD pocket cam, mixed with Audacity and VideoMagix Deluxe 15.
His Notes: I played “Sing Sing Sing” on ukulele. I’ve heard the tune played by Benny Goodman over and over again, and tried to play like his music.
The strange noise was my daughter’s voice. She tries to disturb my play at any time. This can be said the important training for my mental strength : )
This ukulele is the new Martin S1 ukulele with solid mahogany.
I hope you enjoy.
A beautiful song from Eddie Vedder’s forthcoming album “Ukulele Songs” out at the end of May. I don’t even pretend to do it justice, but it’s a lovely song to play.
Their Notes: Doug on uke, Graham on sax. The Sopranos are a UK based duo. In this video we are mainly showing off our new shirts. Thanks to kent video production company http://www.kershmedia.co.uk for help with our home movie
His Notes: i wrote this today.
i usually tune my ukes a half-step down (F# B D# G#).
being a graduate of the Dylan/Prine Kristofferson Vocal Academy, it gives me a little more room when i sing and takes a little plinkyness out of the uke itself.
i always knew i was gonna use “half-step down” for a title.
performed on my 1947 gibson tenor uke.
Happy National Ukulele Day!!!
half step down, half step down
you ain’t so far ahead of me
i’m just a half step down
i tune a little flat cause i fret a little sharp
daddy said thank god the boy never
took up the autoharp
half step down, half step down
you ain’t so far ahead of me
i’m just a half step down
only got 4 strings, only use 3 chords
you can carry a tune but i can write the words
better leave that guitar in it’s case
take that 6 string razor go shave your face
half step down, half step down
you ain’t so far ahead of me
i’m just a half step down
i tune a little flat cause i fret a little sharp
daddy said thank god the boy never
took up the autoharp
half step down, half step down
you ain’t so far ahead of me
i’m just a half step down
F# is a half step down from G
B is a half step down from C
D# is a half step down from E
and the G# stands for good lookin’!
half step down, half step down
you ain’t so far ahead of me
i’m just a half step down
Their Notes: Garfunkel and Oates decided to parody one of their own songs. I Would Never (Dissect a Ewe) is a parody of their song I Would Never (Have Sex with You) by Garfunkel and Oates. Here is the original: http://youtu.be/ilOx2Jmm1r4
