When I was 15 (way back in the dark ages, long ere the white man came over the great waters) I got my first guitar. I used to rush home from high school so I could watch a lady named Laura Weber on PBS who taught “folk guitar.”

It wasn’t until just now (thanks, Google> that I found out that when I was watching her in 1973 I was actually watching tapes of her made in the mid-60’s.

In any event, the very first song I learned from her was Delia’s Gone.

Contrary to (apparently) popular opinion, this is not a Johnny Cash tune. It’s a very old folk song… old enough to be in the “trad” category.

(No dis on Johnny… I love him.)

It’s very cool to hear the tune again, especially on ukulele.

    Good job, Wade!

Got something to say?
